MEET THE TEAM

Vetya
Career Snapshot
I started out at The Warehouse Group as an intern from AUT at the end of 2018 and was then offered a full time role as a replenishment planner at the start of 2019. I then moved into the Toys team and it was a lot of fun to be part of something new and be able to further develop my skills. After that, I moved into the Apparel team as a newly named Location Planner and now I am a Planner within the Home team.
Day in the Life
Our job is to make sure that our stores have the right product at the right time in the right quantity so that our customers can complete their shopping mission when they walk through our doors. Part of this is engaging with the commercial planning team to make sure we are set up to achieve their financial targets while also working with the supply chain team to optimise our stock flow without causing congestion.
What is your favourite part of your role?
My favourite thing about being a Planner is knowing that I helped make someone’s day when they were able to buy what they wanted, when they wanted to.
Words of wisdom
My number one piece of advice is to just be engaged and eager to learn. If you're engaged with what you're doing and the people around you then your work will reflect that. If you're eager to learn then the sky's the limit for what you can do and where you want to go and you will find that doors of opportunity will open for you.
Why do you love working with The Warehouse Group?
I love working at TWG for a number of reasons but my main two are that I believe TWG is leading the way when it comes to being customer first in everything we do and in our passion for sustainability. The second is that there are so many opportunities within this organisation that I find myself constantly being amazed by the work others around me are doing. I know so many people who have come into the business in one area and then found themselves being passionate about another and then finding a role there. You truly can start here and go anywhere.
Describe the culture and environment at TWG.
The culture at TWG is one of support and growth. Since I started I have felt nothing but supported in every endeavour and opportunity I have taken on which has given me the confidence to then try new things because I know that even if I fail, the team will be there to help me understand what went wrong and where to go next.
What is your favourite TWG benefit?
My favourite TWG benefit is the 'Work Your Way' policy because it means I have the flexibility to come into the office and engage with the team, while also having the opportunity to work from home and have some proper focus time or keep on top of life admin.
