MEET THE TEAM

Malcolm

Malcolm

Career Snapshot

I have been with the business coming up 17 years starting as a Christmas Temp on checkouts in The Warehouse Gore back in 2008. I have worked in almost every role in store as a Team Member before moving into Store Management in 2020. I then supported our Store Fulfilment Network. That opened the door to our Store Support Office, where I moved later that year as Fulfilment Network Coordinator for Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery.

After five years supporting fulfilment across both brands, I headed back to stores as Trading Manager at The Warehouse South Dunedin. My journey has since brought me back to SSO as a Fulfilment Network Specialist where I am currently.

Day in the Life

A typical day in the life of my role as Fulfilment Network Specialist involves:

  • Reviewing the performance of the Fulfilment Network

  • Deep diving issues that arise

  • Supporting Stores by answering their queries and assisting in fixing any issues

  • Providing insights to Store Teams and to Teams across SSO relating to Stores and Fulfilment Processes

  • Our team is responsible for the effective management of the Fulfilment Network and the flow of Customer Online Orders from order placement to being received by the customer.

What is your favourite part of your role?

The best part of my role is the ability for me to indirectly impact the customer by providing support to our store teams.

Looking at the volume that we process through our peak period, and knowing the impact we have for Christmas for so many of our customers, makes it all worth it!

Words of wisdom

Take every opportunity that is offered to you. I have spent the majority of my career saying yes to opportunities that have presented themselves, this has led me to achieve things I never thought were possible.

Why do you love working with The Warehouse Group?

There is so much opportunity within TWG for growth and development.

Whether it's the store level training and the ability to learn multiple departments, the Emerge and Evolve leadership training, or the ability to move stores and roles. Theres always a chance for growth if you want it

What is your favourite TWG benefit?

My favorite perk is our 'Here for Good Leave'. Each year we can take 1 day of paid leave to support our communities in a way that is meaningful to us.
