Job Description
We’re looking for a Buyer to lead the development of compelling product ranges across our Outdoor Living category – covering Hardware, Automotive and related areas. This is a unique role with the opportunity to work across both home brand and well-known national and global brands. It’s an exciting, fast-paced area with strategic attention and business focus.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Bringing your relative product expertise and customer understanding to the fore, building relevant and appealing ranges that meet Kiwi needs.
- Deep-diving into sales data, analysing trends, and drawing actionable insights. Regularly reporting findings to stakeholders, providing valuable information that shapes our business strategies.
- Thriving in a cross-functional environment where teamwork is the key to success. Working seamlessly with various departments, from sourcing to marketing, ensuring a cohesive and compelling product offering.
- Actively engaging with sourcing and suppliers to bring the best value and quality to our customers.
Qualifications
Highly commercial, insightful and decisive in your thinking, you are passionate about your craft and have an innate curiosity for ‘how we can do better’ to provide the best products for our customers.
Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills will be essential to unlock collaboration, productivity and speed to market. Taking ownership means you work effectively, both independently and collaboratively to deliver your best work and commercial results for the business.
In a snapshot:
- Solid category management experience within retail, ideally in Hardware, Outdoor, Automotive or related categories
- Experience developing branded and own brand ranges
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and analytical skills
- A customer driven focus
- The ability to trade utilising promotional activity and advertising to maximum effect
- Decisiveness in a fast-moving environment as well as a resilient and driven nature
- Proven ability to build long-term, sustainable partnerships with suppliers
