Job Description
As a Buyers Assistant within our Appliances, Furniture, Luggage and Storage categories within Home, you will support Category Buyers and the wider Merchandise team with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks.
This is a busy, detail-focused role where strong communication, organisation and accuracy are essential. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products and processes run smoothly while gaining valuable exposure to the buying function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Raising and managing urgent purchase orders
- Communicating with global suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely updates
- Maintaining accurate product data, pricing and imagery
- Supporting promotional and advertising administration
- Managing samples and assisting with range administration
- Providing general administrative and systems support to Buyers
- Supporting the wider merchandise team and collaborating across functions
This is a permanent opportunity, offering ongoing development within a high-performing and fast-moving category team.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings energy, initiative, and a genuine interest in building a career in merchandise and buying. Experience in retail, merchandise, or product environments is beneficial, but most importantly, you’re eager to learn and grow.
You will bring:
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Confidence to share ideas and build on feedback
- A proactive, can-do attitude
- The ability to thrive in a reactive, fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office capability
- The ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse team
