Company Description
We’re looking for a hands-on Regional Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor who enjoys being on the ground, working shoulder-to-shoulder with operational teams to make safety practical, relatable and effective.
This role is all about influence, relationships and culture - not ticking boxes. If you can walk the talk, explain the why behind safety decisions, pivot when things change, and coach leaders and teams to do safety better every day, then this could be the role for you.
Job Description
You’ll partner closely with Distribution Centre operations, bringing a strong health and safety lens that balances risk, people and commercial realities. You’ll support teams to find solutions that work - lifting the safety conversation, embedding good practice, and building trust along the way.
This is not a siloed or purely compliance-driven role. You’ll be visible, approachable, and focused on enabling safe outcomes that make sense for the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Working directly with operational leaders and frontline teams to improve safety outcomes
- Supporting delivery of site-level actions from the annual HSW Plan
- Promoting safe behaviours through coaching, mentoring and practical guidance
- Supporting incident and near-miss reporting, investigations and follow-up actions
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits, hazard identification and risk assessments
- Supporting SOP development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contributing to wellbeing initiatives and injury management support
- Helping lift safety culture by making HSW relatable, practical and people-focused
Flexibility & working arrangements
This role is 30 hours a week with genuine flexibility, and we’re open to shaping it around the right person including:
- School hours are possible (e.g. 9:00am – 3:00pm)
- Option for a 4-day week, or spread across 5 days
- We do ask for occasional flexibility to cover 12:00pm – 8:00pm (once per month)
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to return to work, step into HSW from an operational background, or continue building their safety career with balance.
Qualifications
You’ll likely bring:
- A hands-on, operational mindset and comfortable being out on the floor
- Strong people skills and high emotional intelligence (EQ)
- The ability to explain the why behind safety decisions
- A practical, solution-focused approach (not overly compliance-driven)
- Confidence working independently, with a strong and dynamic presence
- Experience coaching, mentoring and influencing leaders and teams
- An understanding of commercial and operational constraints
Experience & qualifications (flexible):
- Background in Health & Safety, operations, facilities, or a related field
- Formal H&S qualifications (Level 4–6) are welcomed but not essential
- We’ll consider candidates returning to the workforce or transitioning into HSW
Additional Information
Why join us?
- Make a real impact on safety culture in a major operational environment
- Work closely with engaged, down-to-earth leaders and teams
- Be trusted to operate independently and bring your personality to the role
- Flexible hours that support work–life balance
- A supportive team environment focused on collaboration, not silos
If you’re practical, people-focused, and ready to help shape safer ways of working , we’d love to hear from you. Apply now.
