I joined Torpedo7 (T7) as a Web Content Editor in 2014 before moving to my current role in January 2016. I run and analyse reports, and work with the Buying Team, Marketing Team and Senior Management. I push stock to our stores as well as maintain their replenishment levels. I also spend a portion of each day solving issues that have come up in the Merchandise Team.
A career highlight for me was spending a few months working with a business mentor – I learned so much and it gave me opportunities of presenting projects in front of the Group Leadership.
T7 is filled with amazing people who are all passionate about what we sell. I love working in a place where your role is not just what you do, it represents who you are. We are all mountain bikers, snowboarders and hikers, living and breathing the “See you out there” motto. The Monday question of “What did you do on the weekend?” always has something that we sell in the answer.
The changing face of retail
Having just moved with the company to the main Auckland Support Office, I’m super excited about the resources now available to T7. There is a huge fountain of knowledge and plenty of technology for us to tap into, to help grow T7 into a household name for Kiwis, for all their “See you out there” needs.
My role ensures stock availability, so that customers can come into our stores or shop online, and get the products that they need to get out there, be healthy and lead active lives. We could only do that by keeping up with digital technology and by putting customers first.
Why join us?
If you’re a bit of a product geek, and love the outdoors, you will love working with T7. For myself, I love the variety of work – no two days are ever the same. There’s lots of encouragement for you to grow in your role too – courses and conferences that keep you up to date and help advance your career.
As part of The Warehouse Group team you get lots of benefits – like a paid day off for your birthday and discounted insurance. A huge benefit of working with T7 is being one of the first to know about new products (especially in my role where I get to know when they are first available to purchase too!) and to buy them at special team member pricing.
“See you out there” sums us up perfectly. The culture is one of family, where you work hard and play hard, being out there doing things. Whether it be biking, hiking, boarding, skiing, riding – we’re doing what we sell.
