GM Marketing - Warehouse Stationery

The Role:

Based in our Store Support Office and reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this integral role will own and drive all of marketing and customer experience behaviours for the Warehouse Stationery brand, with business responsibility to the Warehouse Stationery CEO. This role will sit on both the Warehouse Stationery Senior Leadership Team and the Marketing Centre of Excellence Leadership Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Sales, EBIT and budget management 

  • Work with ecommerce, merchandise, and operations to deliver trading results
  • Manage the marketing P&L, with responsibility for key marketing metrics

Marketing strategy and deliverables 

  • Development and delivery of all marketing and customer experience campaigns, deliverables, strategies, BizRewards, and the Warehouse Stationery private label brand. 
  • Actively seek supplier and partnership opportunities to enhance the customer value proposition
  • Lead and provide vision for brand and customer experience, in-store activation, local marketing, brand stewardship, and omni-channel customer experiences.  
  • Manage the cadence and calendar of marketing promotions and activities, delivering all go-to-market plans

Cross-functional and team leadership 

  • Be the voice of the Warehouse Stationery customer as you actively participate on the various Leadership Teams 
  • Lead a team of people who work on the Warehouse Stationery brand, including people who do and don’t report to you
  • Fully leverage and partner with the Marketing Centre of Excellent to deliver marketing requirements – namely; media, creative, CLM, loyalty, customer data science, research and insights, and communications. 

Customer and Brand Management  

  • Leverage customer behavioural data, market and customer insights to build data driven marketing strategy and activity 
  • Make the customer experience excellent across all touch points, formats and channels; including online, in-store, store-within-a-store, Click&Collect, and delivery.
  • Brand development for the Warehouse Stationery retail and private label brands.


About You:

Your deep marketing background, strategic thinking and trading mindset are an absolute must.  You will also bring a successful track record in retail and potentially B2B environments, delivering go-to-market strategies and activation campaigns. 

  • 15+ years’ experience in related Marketing, Sales and/or customer facing roles with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience successfully leading go-to-market strategies and activations, with a track record of driving excellence around 360-degree campaigns and messaging initiatives.
  • Top notch relationship management and communication skills along with the ability to work cross functionally – listening, collaboration, influencing, presenting and managing relationships effectively
  • Strong analytical skills and experience owning and reporting on key business metrics
  • Highly resilient and flexible, you thrive on working at pace
  • A continuous improvement approach to your work
  • Proven leaderships skills – leading, mentoring, coaching
  • Change management experience
