External Communications Manager

The role

Reporting into our GM – Corporate Communications (and working closely with our Head of External Communications), your role will centre on offering external communications support primarily to our Noel Leeming, Warehouse Stationery and Torpedo7 brands.  Driving positive brand perception will be achieved via these key responsibilities:

 

  • Development and implementation of Communications plans – Lead the establishment of communications strategy and planning for NLG, WSL and Torpedo7 along with reporting on plan, progress and results and tracking of coverage.
  • Drive PR campaigns and events – manage the external comms for brand events and activations such as product launches, store openings and new intitiatives.
  • Manage media opportunities alongside the Head of External communications, including issues management.

 

About you

This role involves working cross functionally, so we are looking for a true collaborator whom excels at relationship management, building credibility and trust quickly with key stakeholders.   We will rely on your exceptional writing skills and knack to tailor to different channels, coupled with your passion to portray our businesses in the best positive light.  Our wish-list also includes:

  • 5 + years’ experience in the PR or communications industry (retail experience desirable)
  • Strong strategic communications planning and development experience
  • Knowledge of media relations and influencer engagement
  • Adaptable and flexible, solutions-focussed and able to work across multiple brands
