    Head of Customer Experience Strategy

    My day-to-day role is to help solve problems for our customers, and work out how we can create new opportunities for them. One way of doing this is by running Design Thinking workshops aimed at utilising the immense knowledge and capability at The Warehouse Group (TWG) to create truly customer-centred solutions.
    I also work to support projects by taking them through a simple and clear process, to ensure we deliver on our promises and are clear on the actions needed to come through for our customers.
    I love interacting with the teams and getting to help create solutions that will make a difference in peoples’ lives. Even though I’ve only been here for a month, I am proud that I’ve been able to help out on some big projects, and to provide some crucial support to get things moving.
    I see my role as making sure we are focused on the things that matter the most to our customers, which includes community and the environment. I want to see us being fair and genuine in our interactions with all those elements, while being true to ourselves.

    The changing face of retail

    The rapid changes in retail mean that life for a customer is becoming easier and better every day. I hope we will keep working on even more ways of making sure that continues.
    At TWG, we can become even more focused on who we are and what we believe our role is, in communities and for customers. We need to use that opportunity to create great experiences and shape a future for retail that Helps New Zealand Flourish.

    Why join us?

    If you’re interested in my role at TWG, you need to have a lot of empathy. The best way to build that is to go into stores and talk to people, work on the floor and start getting an understanding of how people feel and think.
    You also need to check your ego at the door and remember that you’re here to solve problems for others, not create a platform for yourself. Make sure you are in it for the right reasons and that you’re willing to go through a lot of change to really do well, because retail is fast paced and you need agility to keep up.
    If all of that fits with your idea of a career in retail, then go for it. At TWG you’ll find that you get to work with capable, passionate people who are as keen to listen and learn as you are. You definitely don’t get that at every workplace. Nor do you get the great team benefits. Surprisingly, my favourite isn’t the Team Discount card (even though that’s handy). For me it’s the people.
