As part of my day-to-day role, I lead the Professional Services Team for Tech Solutions for Business (TS4B), Noel Leeming, and The Warehouse Group (TWG). We’ve delivered network connectivity and Wi-Fi for Noel Leeming, migrated Noel Leeming to TWG domain and from Spark to Vodafone, and set up a content management system for Noel Leeming online.
The best part for me is sorting out IT problems for our customers, so they can get on with the real work of their businesses. Without a team of passionate experts, it would be hard to achieve the results I want. The culture here is great – everyone just wants to get things done, for the right results for our customers.
There is a real focus on self-development at TWG, which ensures the teams always stay current in this fast-paced environment. I was lucky enough to be part of the award-winning program ‘Aspire Women in Leadership’ – it’s great that Noel Leeming supports and promotes women in this way.
The changing face of retail
As technology is changing, big improvements will be made to the in-store experience. No more queuing up to the cash register to pay for products, and customers will have more information provided through their mobile devices to help with making informed decisions on their purchases.
With Wi-Fi being brought into stores, ways of shopping will change – from browsing and choosing, to how we pay for products. It means every team member has to be ready, and with the training and self-development that TWG encourages, we can be future-proofed for the new retail landscape.
Why join us?
Noel Leeming has a great culture. The workplace is filled with ‘Passionate Experts’ who love what they do, and there are a lot of career opportunities. We’re lucky to have the Tindall Training Centre providing a focused development area, which enables team members to achieve their professional goals.
There are not many companies that invest in their people’s development like they do at Noel Leeming and at TWG. It’s the way they are keeping pace with the changing future of retail – by investing in their people to be the best they can be.
Can you think quickly, stay focused and adapt? Are you positive, curious and not afraid to ask questions? You might have some IT ability or a qualification in something like project management, or maybe you’re still in school. Wherever you start from, the best way is up.
Think about the area you’d like to work in, research it, and if possible talk to someone in a retail role that you’d like to perform. If you feel it’s a good fit, and you’d like to apply, go for GOLD! You’ve got nothing to lose – and a great career to gain.
